"Normal Danger"
Lights up:
Tracing the invisible body of my best friend
She enters:
a dramatic force.
We turn together - down-up -
I stop, still dizzy,
regaining balance, determined.
A frenzy of head banging and hair shaking,
for 24 long counts.
She watches.
We meet again on the diagonal: a friendly brawl.
At last, she dances.
I watch.
I move towards her,
like a raging bull with a pretty dress on.
A duet.
Annoying and amusing ourselves,
until I conquer.
Then: tracing the body of my best friend.
Under her arm, I hook,
this time to help.
We run like children to the corner.
Forward and back again.
She places her hand on my shoulder.
The weight of this gesture brings me to the ground.
Through the simple union of numbers,
synchronizing of the 5th,
We travel downstage on the diagonal.
I gather her hair into a bun
which sits slightly to the left at the top of her head.
Trust is the end.
